Through participation in the following education programs, CTM trainees will be ready for challenging positions in industry, government, and academia.

Doctoral Program

The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, through its Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSC), offers a highly competitive PhD program with an emphasis on developing in its students the quantitative knowledge and skills needed to develop medications for safe and effective therapy. Doctoral students interested in the Center for Translational Medicine can choose the methods track or the disease track. The methods track focuses on evaluating new methodology pertaining to modeling and simulation approaches (e.g. comparison of different methods for comparative effectiveness). The disease track focuses on building tools for a specific disease area (e.g. elucidating tumor size-survival relationship). Drug development and regulatory fundamentals will be covered in both tracks.
