PHEX 545 Compounding Syllabus Information
This compounding rotation (two or three credit) provides an opportunity to
extemporaneously compound prescriptions in a community setting, along with the
opportunity to provide pharmaceutical care to ambulatory patients with a variety
of health care problems. This experience focuses on extemporaneous compounding
and the use of compounded prescriptions in delivering pharmaceutical care. Some
available rotation sites are veterinary clinics.
Prerequisites are the successful completion of Phase III (PHPC 570, PHPC 571) of
the Experiential Learning Program and Pharmaceutics (PHAR 535). Students
who have completed the third year of the PharmD program typically meet the
prerequisite requirements of PHEX 545.
