A rich array of professional and technical services is available to the Lamy Center through University, School, and Departmental auspices. The University's new Health Science and Human Services Library, completed in Spring 1998, is the second largest medical library building on the East Coast and provides a full menu of informational services to Center Faculty and staff. Lamy Center associates also have access to a high-capacity research-dedicated computer facility opened in 1998 and operated by the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. This facility is directed by an experienced systems manager and staffed by computer programmers with expertise in health care databases and statistical analyses.
Medical and drug databases available to Lamy Center researchers include archives of claims and encounter data for Medicaid recipients in Maryland and Pennsylvania. An extensive library of public-use data bases appropriate for epidemiological and outcomes studies of drug use and aging is also maintained.
