About Us

M. Reginald Carson, PharmD
Dr. Marcus Reginald Carson is from Baltimore, Maryland and the son of two pharmacists, Marcus T. and Regina Carson.  He currently resides in Burtonsville, Maryland with his wife, Dr. Kweli Carson, an endodontist, and their daughter Nandi.  In 1992, he obtained his Bachelors degree in English and Linguistics from Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia.  He graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2002.

 Dr. Carson is currently practices at the South Baltimore Pharmacy in Cherry Hill, as a diabetes educator at the Family Health Centers of Baltimore Cherry Hill Clinic, and as a part-time clinical pharmacist for the Lamy Center and for the Northwest Hospital Center.  He also serves as the co-chair of the American Diabetes Association Baltimore Area Volunteer Speaker’s Bureau and speaks around Baltimore on Diabetes Self-management prevention and screening. At the University of Iowa, he was the founder and Past President of the University of Iowa chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association and served as the national nominating committee chairman in 1998. He served on the College’s curriculum committee and the Iowa Pharmacy Association’s Board of Trustees as a student representative. He is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the American Diabetes Association, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, the National Pharmaceutical Association, Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, the Maryland Pharmaceutical Society, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He received the APhA-ASP Mortar and Pestle Professionalism Award, the Dean’s Achievement Award in 2002, the Charles J. Malecek Scholarship Award in 1999 and 2000, and the Association of Black Health Systems Pharmacist’s Student Achievement Award in 1998.  

Dr. Carson’s main interest is protecting vulnerable populations, namely the elderly and other medically underserved populations, from medication misadventures.
