Sponsorship

The Lamy Center receives funding from multiple sources. The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy provides essential infrastructure support in the form of office space, faculty base salaries, and other resources used by Center associates. Experiential training and residencies in geriatric pharmacotherapy are supported jointly by the School of Pharmacy and private health care organizations. The pharmaceutical industry funds targeted research projects. State and federal government agencies and private foundations fund traditional research grants and contracts. Workshops and symposia also generate funds for program operation.

A Special Thank You...

We recently had the pleasure of being contacted by Dr. Peter Lamy’s older twin brother, Bernhard Lamy. Mr. Lamy was interested in catching up on the work going on in the Center and also shared some history on his brother.

Mr. Bernhard Lamy’s career spanned 20 years as a district vice president of the Bank of New York. He was also a Governor of the American Institute of Banking and Director of the Chamber of Commerce. When he retired to Baltimore, he volunteered for 10 years in the Attorney General’s Office for Consumer Protection and the Red Cross. He has also traveled extensively around the world, including Australia, China, Egypt and the Fiji Islands.

We would like to thank Mr. Lamy for making a generous endowment to continue the clinical and research activities for the elderly at the Peter Lamy Center.
