The Johns Hopkins Geriatric Education Center Consortium

The Johns Hopkins Geriatric Education Center Consortium (JHGECC) is an educational initiative of the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology of the Department of Medicine of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and funded by The Bureau of Health Professions, Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Public Health Service as part of Geriatric Education Centers (GECS) program.

The purpose of the JHGECC is to help disseminate geriatric-oriented medical education for health professionals working primarily in eastern Maryland.

The Geriatrics and Gerontology Education and Research Program (GGEAR) is a state funded program located in the Office of Academic Affairs, University of Maryland, Baltimore. The purpose of GGEAR is to better prepare Maryland's health care professionals to care for frail, older individuals and to sponsor research projects which will ultimately produce interventions on behalf of this population.
