The UMB School of Pharmacy has been long recognized as a center of excellence in industrial pharmacy, due in part to its ongoing collaborative agreement with the FDA. Total funding for this agreement has exceeded $11.5 million to date.
The GMP facility has nearly 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation and the production of tablets and capsules. Projects have used the GMP facility include researchers at UM, FDA, large and small pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and suppliers of chemicals and excipients.
Several past projects included collaborations with the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Maryland Psychiatric Research Center where we performed quality control testing on products to be used in clinical studies, and the Cochrane Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Field.
