Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is a key element of the School of Pharmacy’s strategic plan.

In an effort to continue expanding our entrepreneurship initiatives, the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is helping its faculty and students benefit from many rewarding research, practice, education, and philanthropy opportunities.

Faculty at the School of Pharmacy pursue the practical applications of their scholarly work through the development of patents, technologies, and startup companies. Our comprehensive development program fosters a culture of philanthropy among all faculty and students, helping to unlock the entrepreneurial spirit of all participants and support their success in this dynamic industry.

To further facilitate entrepreneurship, the School also works closely with state programs, such as the Maryland Technology Development Corporation and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, while establishing partnerships with individuals at other academic, non-profit, and corporate organizations to optimize continuing education programs and clinical, research, and teaching contracts.
