Hillary Edwards, MPH, is the director of methodological research and evaluation for The PATIENTS Program in the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR) at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

In her capacity as director of methodological research and evaluation, Hillary oversees patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR), including planning, organizing, staffing, and evaluating the program’s infrastructure and related research activities. Hillary develops new initiatives and research proposals specific to methods development in PCOR and qualitative research projects.

She received a BA from Goucher College in business management and art, and her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she concentrated in global health and research ethics. She focused her capstone research on patients’ rights in clinical research and responsible conduct of research in the developing world. Prior to joining in PHSR, Hillary served as the training specialist in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, where she coordinated admissions, activities and evaluations for the Middle East Research Ethics Training Initiative (MERETI) and the University of Maryland Graduate School’s Online Research Ethics Certificate Program. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Professions Education at the University of Maryland Graduate School.
