The Office of Faculty and Academic Affairs plays a central role in advancing academic excellence at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

With oversight of the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum, experiential learning, academic technologies, educational support, and faculty success, the office ensures our programs meet the highest standards of innovation, equity, and professional relevance.

The office supports both student learning and faculty advancement through thoughtful curriculum management, ongoing assessment, and commitment to instructional quality and inclusivity.

What We Do

Our office is responsible for a wide range of interconnected areas:

  • Curriculum Oversight and Improvement
    Leads continuous development of the PharmD curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the profession and ensure student success.
  • Assessment and Compliance
    Oversees program assessment and ensures compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation standards, including ACPE.
  • Experiential Learning
    Manages the integration of real-world experiences into the PharmD curriculum through robust site partnerships, preceptor development, and quality assurance.
  • Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS)
    Ensures students have equitable access and accommodations across academic and experiential settings, including Title IX modifications.
  • Academic Technology and Instructional Design
    Oversees digital learning platforms, instructional support, scheduling systems, AV services, and analytics to enhance teaching and operations.
  • Faculty Affairs and Development
    Supports faculty in workload management, promotion and tenure processes, professional development, onboarding, recognition programs, and grievance resolution.

Leadership Team

  • Agnes Ann Feemster, PharmD - Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs
    Provides strategic leadership across all academic and faculty-related functions, including curriculum, faculty support, and academic program innovation.
  • Mojdeh Heavner, PharmD - Assistant Dean for Experiential Learning
    Oversees quality, compliance, and integration of experiential education, ensuring students are well-prepared for professional practice.
  • Lisa Lebovitz, JD, MS - Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment
    Leads continuous assessment and improvement efforts to ensure institutional and accreditation compliance.
  • Shannon Tucker, PhD - Assistant Dean for Instructional Design and Technology
    Directs strategy for academic technology, digital learning, AV services, instructional design, and academic operations.
  • Lisa Finn, MPH - Assistant Director of Assessment and Educational Support and Disability Services
    Provides essential coordination for program assessment and student disability services.
