The Office of Students is the central hub for student services, support, and advocacy at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

We serve all enrolled students - PharmD, PhD, MS, and certificate - and are committed to fostering a student experience that promotes academic success, personal growth, wellness, and professional development.

Located on the 7th Floor of the south side of Pharmacy Hall , the office brings together key personnel and services to ensure students are supported from orientation through graduation and beyond.

What We Do

Our work encompasses the full student experience:

  • Records, Registration, and Progression: Coordination of academic records and registration across all 11 academic programs, in collaboration with campus and the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Graduate Studies.
  • Academic Advising and Success: Personalized academic advising, tutoring, coaching, and proactive early interventions to support progression and achievement, particularly in the PharmD program.
  • Student Life and Wellness: Development of programs that foster wellness, mentorship, community, and belonging.
  • Career Development: Guidance and resources to prepare students for professional success, from résumé building to placement support.
  • Event Coordination: Planning and execution of key student ceremonies, including orientation, White Coat, and graduation.
  • Crisis Response and Advocacy: Support systems to respond to student concerns, emergencies, or personal challenges.

Meet the Leadership

  • Andrew Coop, PhD, Associate Dean for Students
    Leads efforts in academic records, registration, and student progression for all academic programs. Coordinates with UMB and campus leadership, oversees PharmD financial aid, and spearheads new program development and integration.
  • Kristine Parbuoni, PharmD, Assistant Dean for PharmD Student Life and Student Success
    Focuses on enhancing student experience through wellness, advising, and engagement. Oversees student organizations, crisis support, academic success services, and coordinates key ceremonies for the PharmD program.
