Senior/Lead Research Project Coordinator (Requisition# 2400001P)

The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is currently seeking a Senior Research Project Coordinator or Lead Research Project Coordinator for the PATIENTS program of the Department of Practice, Sciences and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR). The position will be filled based on the selected candidate's qualifications. The PATIENTS Program envisions a world in which patients and stakeholders are heard, inspired, and empowered to co-develop patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR). The Senior Health Program Specialist will support the expansion of the PATIENTS Program’s clinical and translational research portfolio. The portfolio is grounded in patient-centered and community-engaged research to advance health equity guided by the PATIENTS 10-Step Engagement Framework.  

Some of the primary duties of the Senior Research Project Coordinator include independently managing daily operations of two or more research studies protocols; serving as the primary liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies, and product representatives to promote effective and efficient operation and use of resources; providing guidance and direction to personnel engaged in research studies to ensure compliance with protocols and overall clinical objectives; developing and tracking workflow policies and progress through the duration of the research study; supporting the completion of research project tasks; assisting Principal Investigators and regulatory staff in the preparation of new protocol submissions, protocol amendments, and renewals of ongoing research studies; overseeing subject recruitment enrollment to ensure that informed consent is properly secured and documented; assessing eligibility of potential subjects through methods such as screening interviews, reviews of medical records, and discussions with research personnel, and more.  

Some of the primary duties of the Lead Research Project Coordinator include performing all the duties of the Senior Research Project Coordinator position, while also independently managing and providing the highest-level guidance and direction to personnel engaged in research studies to ensure compliance with protocols and meet objectives; planning, developing, administering, and coordinating new or revised project goals, objectives, workflows and policies through the duration of the research study; implementing approved study or trial policies and procedures; ensuring that goals and objectives specified for the research project are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time and funding limitations, or other specifications, and more.
