The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy prepares future generations of pharmacists with the knowledge and skills needed to be essential contributors to a dynamic health care arena.

Prime Location

Maryland is home to federal agencies such as the FDA, the NIH, and NASA, academic medical centers, and pharmaceutical companies such as AstraZeneca. Many School of Pharmacy alumni work in these places, creating opportunities for student rotations, internships, and fellowships.

 

Research Opportunities

Working with our world-class faculty, students have opportunities for hands-on research experiences that will position them for highly competitive fellowships after graduation. In 2022, our alumni landed the sixth-most industry fellowships of any pharmacy school. Experiential Learning

Experiential learning makes up 30% of the curriculum, with students selecting rotations from a menu of hundreds of preceptors and sites – every imaginable setting in which pharmacy is the focus. Even international rotations!

 

Interprofessional Education

Become part of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, a campus of six professional schools and the Graduate School. UMSOP boasts a unique interprofessional education and practice opportunities with other health professions on campus to prepare students for team-based care work environments.
