About Dr. Kuzucan:

Aida Kuzucan, PharmDAida Kuzucan is a licensed pharmacist, a fellow in the T32 Epidemiology of Aging Training Program, and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her research interests include safe pain management in nursing homes, policies aimed at curbing inappropriate medication use among Medicare beneficiaries, and the quality of randomized controlled studies used in the FDA approval process. Her dissertation will use both quantitative and qualitative analyses to understand how opioids are used in long-term nursing home Medicare beneficiaries with non-cancer, chronic pain, and how this use is associated with opioid-related safety outcomes.
