The Metallotherapeutics Research Center invites researchers with an interest in metal systems to attend its first Mid-Atlantic Symposium, "Frontiers in Metals in Medicine" on Nov. 15, 2019.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy established the Metallotherapeutics Research Center in 2017.

The mission of the center is to harness the in-house expertise in metal systems with the unique research capabilities and resources within the School of Pharmacy. The mission of the center is to improve human health and welfare by identifying new metalloprotein drug targets, developing new metal therapeutics, and improving current metal-based medications.

About the Symposium:

The goal of the center is to become a focal point to bring together researchers with an interest in metal systems to stimulate interaction and collaboration. As such, we are pleased to host the first Mid-Atlantic Symposium “Frontiers in Metals in Medicine” on November 15, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration is free, and we encourage participation from faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students. Poster presenters will be selected from the submitted abstracts for short oral presentations.

For More Information:
