About the Course:

Programming with Health Care Claims Data Using SAS will use lectures and hands-on programming sessions to provide an overview of using SAS software to understand and use Medicare Claims data. The data that will be used in the course is the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Synthetic Public Use File, which has been completely cleansed of any private patient information. Anyone can download this file and use it for analysis, making it a great place to start learning about claims data.

Students enrolled in this course will utilize SAS Studio to analyze and summarize claims data. They will have the opportunity to ask questions of subject matter experts and receive a flash drive that contains numerous resources to help them continue using the knowledge gained during the course.

Students will also receive five hours of post-course consulting from Pharmaceutical Research Computing (PRC).

Who Should Attend?

Programming with Health Care Claims Data Using SAS is designed for individuals who know a little about SAS Studio or PC SAS, but who want to learn more about it and how to use it to conduct research with claims based data.
