The Experiential Learning Program (ELP) oversees all structured educational opportunities in actual practice settings, under the supervision of and interaction with qualified preceptors.

The School has more than 700 preceptors in sites such as community pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, government agencies, and pharmaceutical companies. These experiences are categorized as Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs).

Rotation Sites:

ELP offers APPE experiences in a wide variety of community-based pharmacies, ranging from independent pharmacies to large corporate chains, as well as health-system settings throughout the DMV region. Beyond traditional practice environments, students can participate in specialized rotations both within the United States and abroad. These experiences provide unique exposure to non-traditional pharmacy practice roles, interdisciplinary healthcare settings, and diverse healthcare systems, broadening students' perspectives on the evolving landscape of pharmacy practice.
