Jillian Doll, PharmD

Dr. Jillian Doll was born and raised in Ellicott City, Md. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University (War Eagle!) before receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She plans to pursue a PGY-2 residency, and her professional interests include critical care, neurology, and cardiology. Dr. Doll’s career goal is to work as a clinical specialist at an academic medical center with the opportunity to precept students and assist in their self-discovery in the vast world of pharmacy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking new recipes, strength training, and playing with her three cats - Captain, Buoy, and Tuna. Dr. Doll is indebted to her family, friends, and mentors who have guided her through this journey. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue to learn from incredible preceptors at this renowned institution.

Tim Le

Tim Le, PharmD

Dr. Tim Le is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University at Buffalo. His professional interests include emergency medicine, toxicology, and academia, and he hopes to practice as a clinical specialist at a large academic medical center while teaching and precepting the next generation of pharmacists. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Le enjoys running, exploring new foods, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills (Go Bills)! He is grateful for the unwavering support of his family, friends, mentors, and preceptors throughout his journey and is excited to begin his pharmacy residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Kirsten Loch

Kirsten Loch, PharmD

Dr. Kirsten Loch is originally from Newport News, Va. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University. While her professional interests include solid organ transplant, she is open to exploring new interests during her PGY-1 year. After completion of a PGY-1 residency, Dr. Loch hopes to pursue a PGY-2 in her area of interest. Her career goals include practicing as a clinical specialist, while contributing to the pharmacy profession through local and nationwide organizations, research, and hopefully precepting and teaching future pharmacy students and residents. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Loch enjoys practicing yoga, going on long walks, dancing for fun, reading mystery/thriller books, watching nostalgic movies, and cooking/baking new recipes. She is excited to explore Baltimore and eat lots of seafood during her residency!! Dr. Loch is grateful for the support of her family, friends, partner, mentors, and preceptors for helping her reach this point, and she is very excited and thankful for the opportunity to train at the University of Maryland Medical Center.  

Kyle Lewandowsk

Kyle Lewandowski, PharmD
Non-Traditional Pharmacy Resident

Dr. Kyle Lewandowski was born and raised in Western Maryland. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Penn. After graduation, he returned to Maryland, where he began his career as a community pharmacist with Walgreens. After a year in that role, he transitioned to an inpatient clinical staff pharmacist position at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC). Over the past three years at UMMC, he has primarily staffed the Shock Trauma Center pharmacy satellite and the Clark Oncology Pharmacy satellite (formerly Katz Pharmacy). He is now beginning his Non-Traditional PGY-1 Residency at UMMC while continuing to serve in his current role as a clinical staff pharmacist. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, lifting weights, running, watching TV and movies, reading about history, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Lewandowski is grateful for the opportunity to further his career as a resident at UMMC and looks forward to the experiences and professional growth this role will provide.

Zach Geesama

Zachary Geesaman, PharmD

Dr. Zachary Geesaman is originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, completing his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Salisbury University. He then moved across the Chesapeake Bay to complete his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. His professional interests include ambulatory care pharmacy and direct patient care services, with special interests in diabetes, weight loss, and infectious diseases. Outside of work, Dr. Geesaman is an avid Baltimore sports fan and enjoys golfing, fishing, and skiing. His career goals are to work directly with patients as a pharmacist and assist them with their medications and disease states, while practicing at the top of his license.

 

Kristine Dones

Dr. Kristine Gem Dones was born in the Philippines and raised in Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Her professional interests include community pharmacy, ambulatory care, and public health. Dr. Dones' career goal is to practice as an ambulatory care pharmacist dedicated to expanding access to care for underserved communities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and going to concerts. Dr. Dones is thankful for the support she has received from her friends, family, mentors, and preceptors. She is excited to train as a pharmacy resident with Safeway/University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

Kaitlyn Staskywicz

Dr. Kaitlyn Staskywicz was born and raised in Tewksbury, Mass. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island in 2026. Her professional interests include oncology, hematology, and academia. She plans to pursue a PGY-2 residency in oncology after completing a PGY-1 pharmacy residency. Dr. Staskywicz is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with cancer and is eager to continue developing her clinical expertise in oncology. Her long-term career goal is to practice as an oncology clinical pharmacist at an academic medical center, where she can combine direct patient care with teaching and mentorship. Dr. Staskywicz is committed to lifelong learning and hopes to contribute to advancements in oncology pharmacy while helping educate and inspire future pharmacists. Outside of pharmacy, Kaitlyn enjoys baking - especially perfecting sourdough bread - cooking, reading, staying active through fitness, and spending time with family. She also loves experiencing the beauty of New England's four seasons, whether admiring the fall foliage, enjoying snowy winters, or spending warm summer days outdoors. Dr. Staskywicz is grateful for the unwavering support of her family, friends, mentors, and preceptors throughout her pharmacy journey and looks forward to continuing to grow as a pharmacy resident while pursuing her passion for oncology.

Her professional interests include infectious diseases and pharmacy administration. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Forbin enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, and traveling. She is grateful for the support and encouragement of her family, friends, mentors, and preceptors throughout her journey and is excited for the opportunity to continue her training as PGY-1 resident at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Dr. Haley Bresnahan is originally from Williamsburg, Va. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Longwood University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her professional interests include internal medicine, HIV, and academia. Dr. Bresnahan’s career goals include becoming a faculty member at a school of pharmacy and working as a clinical specialist at an academic medical center. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys exploring Baltimore, watching hockey (Go Rangers!) and spending time with her cat, Luna.

Dr. Arminda Cako is originally from Albania and moved to Illinois when she was younger. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Sciences and Doctor of pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After graduating with her PharmD, she completed my PGY1 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Retzky College of pharmacy. Dr. Cako's professional interests include solid organ transplant and cardiology. Her career goal is to become a clinical specialist at an academic medical center where she can precept students and residents. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys running, hiking, and traveling. She is thankful for all the support from her family, friends, mentors, and preceptors throughout these years. She is looking forward to continuing her pharmacy training at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Leila Dabalos

Dr. Leila Victoria Dabalos was born in Philippines and grew up in Baltimore County, Md. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her professional interests include heart failure, post-ACS management, and outpatient cardiology. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Dabalos loves to bake, build Legos, and watch Baltimore sports. She is extremely excited to return to Maryland to pursue further training in cardiology as well as taking her new co-residents to happy hours around the city!

Castin Schulz

Castin Schulz, PharmD
Critical Care Resident

Dr. Castin Schulz was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University.  He completed his PGY-1 training at the University of Maryland Medical Center and is excited to be back for another year as a PGY-2 in Critical Care.  His interests within critical care include clinical pharmacokinetics in critically ill patients, vasoplegia and shock states, antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety, and management of hematologic toxicities from immunotherapy.  His professional goals are to practice as a board-certified clinical pharmacy specialist at an academic medical center with didactic and clinical teaching opportunities and enhance pharmacy scope within interdisciplinary rounding teams.  In his free time, Dr. Schulz enjoys running half-marathons and spending time with family and friends.  He looks forward to another great year at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Emma Ives

Dr. Emma Ives is originally from Gurnee, Ill. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2025. She completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Duke University Hospital. Her professional interests include toxicology, acute stroke management, and trauma. Her long-term goal is to obtain board certification in emergency medicine and practice at an academic medical center, where she can pursue clinical research opportunities and continue to precept students and residents. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Ives enjoys golfing, baking, reading, and cheering on The Buckeyes. She is grateful for the endless support she has received from her family, friends, mentors, and preceptors and is elated to train as a PGY-2 emergency medicine pharmacy resident at the University of Maryland Medical Center. 

Giang Anderson

Dr. Giang Anderson was born and raised in Vietnam. She moved to the United State 15 years ago. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University Eugene Apple Baum College of Pharmacy in Detroit. Following graduation, Dr. Anderson completed her acute care PGY-1 residency program with Trinity Health Muskegon in Michigan. She is interested in oncology and palliative care. Outside of the pharmacy world, Dr. Anderson loves outdoor activities like hiking and camping. She has a husky named Ice. She is going to miss him dearly this coming year since he cannot move to Baltimore with her. Dr. Anderson is very grateful for her family, friends, mentors, and preceptors who have been supporting her through her professional journey. She is excited to continue her training with the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Medstar Health.

Samantha Maina

Dr. Samantha Maina was raised in Baltimore County, Md. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency training at Cleveland Clinic Fairview in Ohio. Her professional interests include general pediatrics, academia, and pediatric psychopharmacology. In her free time, Dr. Maina enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, music, and crocheting. She is grateful for the support she has received from friends, family, mentors, and preceptors. She is very excited to return to Maryland to pursue her goal of becoming a pediatric pharmacy clinical specialist.

Madelyn Hickey

Dr. Madelyn Hickey grew up in Tampa, FL. She received her BS from the University of South Florida and her PharmD from the University of South Florida Taneja College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY-1 training at University of Florida Health Shands Hospital where she discovered her love for transplant. She is excited to explore Baltimore while she completes her PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant training at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Hickey’s professional interests include thoracic transplant, academia, and leadership. In her free time, Dr. Hickey enjoys Peloton workouts, running, going to Disney, spending time with family and friends, and trying to restaurants. She is extremely grateful for her family, friends, and mentors who have helped guide and support her on this journey.

Jenny Jo

Dr. Min Jung (Jenny) Jo is originally from South Korea. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University in Boston. Prior to this year, Dr. Jo completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at the Massachusetts State Office for Pharmacy Services. Her clinical interests include pharmacology of antipsychotics, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. She hopes to practice as a board-certified psychiatric pharmacist with didactic/clinical teaching opportunities before eventually pursuing a PhD. Outside of work, Dr. Jo enjoys painting, reading about medical history, and watching whale documentaries. She is sincerely grateful to her family, mentors, and friends for their abundant support throughout her challenging journey. Dr. Jo looks forward to a great year of learning and growing at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Kayleigh O'Brien

Dr. Kayleigh O'Brien is originally from Western Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences degree and Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Cedarville University School of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY-1 residency at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center, which further solidified her interest in ambulatory care. Dr. O’Brien’s primary clinical interests are anticoagulation and diabetes care. She looks forward to exploring additional specialty areas during her time at the University of Maryland. Dr. O’Brien is also interested in pursuing a career in academia and is excited for the pharmacy student and interdisciplinary education opportunities in the year ahead. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with her family and two cats, listening to podcasts, and trying out new coffee shops.

Dr. Misbah Khatib is originally from Mansfield, MA, and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. During pharmacy school, she discovered her passion for toxicology while working at the Washington Poison Center and completing her advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Misbah is particularly interested in clinical toxicology, medication safety, and public health. She is passionate about improving patient outcomes through timely toxicology consultation and research. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and traveling internationally. Misbah is excited to join the Maryland Poison Center team and continue her training at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

Emma Nelson

Dr. Emma Nelson is originally from Rockville, Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Brigham Young University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Her professional interests center on managed care and the evolving landscape of insurance. She aspires to work for a major insurance provider in the future. 

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time outdoors—especially hiking, swimming, and tending to her growing collection of plants. She's always happy to share cuttings with fellow plant lovers.

Krishna Panchal

Krishna Panchal, PharmD

Dr. Krishna Panchal is from Alberta, Canada. She earned her PharmD from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Worcester, Mass. Her practice site is the Center for Successful Aging at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Panchal’s professional interests are deprescribing and polypharmacy, as well as conducting population and benchtop research. Her involvement in the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists at the local, regional, and national levels has strengthened her interest in the care of older adults. She looks forward to continuing to build her clinical skills while also nurturing her interest in academia during her time at UMSOP and at the Peter Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging. Outside of work, Dr. Panchal enjoys running, birdwatching, and horror movies. 

Shalini Rana
